Energy is a major theme of the specific Programme on Cooperation under the Seventh Framework Programme, with a total budget of € 2.35 billion over the duration of FP7. The current challenge is to transform the energy system into a more sustainable one. This workshop in Wind Energy is part of a pilot initiative to develop and implement the EU-LAC (European Union – Latin America and Caribbean) Joint Initiative for Research and Innovation, agreed on the Senior Officials’ meeting (SOM) on Science and Technology organised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on February 25-26, 2010
